Father, Son Stabbed By Contractor, Worker On Long Island

A Long Island father and son were stabbed by a contractor and another man during a fight at the home where the two were working.

The incident took place in Suffolk County around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 7 at 2686 44th St. in Copiague.

According to Suffolk County Police, a man and his son were working as contractors at the residence, when they were involved in an altercation with two of the residents of the home. 

The residents, a 34-year-old father, and his 16-year-old son, were both stabbed during the altercation. 

The contractors fled the scene in a work van and called 911 from a nearby gas station to report the incident, police said. 

The victims were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Suffolk County Police officers took the contractors into custody a short time later at Valero gas station, located at 3359 Great Neck Road, in Copiague.

Selvin Mills, age 50, and Savion Mills, age 19, both of Deer Park, were each charged with:

  • Two counts of assault 
  • Criminal possession of a weapon
  • Endangering the welfare of a child.

They were held overnight and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday, June 8.
